Welcome to Bedale Golf Club, run by Members for the benefit of Members but open to visitors seven days a week.
Founded in 1894 and at the present site since 1967, Bedale is a friendly club with three thriving adult sections, a busy juniors’ section, a full programme of competitions – weekly, monthly and annual - and a lively social side. The course lies only five minutes from the A1 and is just 200 yards from the attractive Georgian town with its full range of shops.
The course winds through beautiful 18th Century parkland, with wide, tree-lined fairways and long-range views of the Wensleydale hills. Water comes into play on seven holes and the course is made more challenging by the prevailing Westerly breeze. Hit the ball straight and you will score well; find the trees and you will need to take your medicine!
We have an outstanding young Course Manager, who heads up a greens team committed to constant improvement of the course : Bedale was selected for a prestigious County tournament in 2009. Our fully-stocked pro shop is open seven days a week, while our Catering Manager cooked for Royalty in a previous occupation. He and his wife run the bar and separate dining room in our modern clubhouse, which enjoys panoramic views of the course from the open air veranda.
For Members, during the April - September season the Men’s Section holds monthly medals and Stablefords, and there are weekly competitions on a Tuesday afternoon and Thursday morning open to all, plus a range of knock out and one-off events.
We field an ‘A’ team and a ‘B’ team in regular matches against local clubs.
